Tried to send this yesterday via twitter, but my partner in crime was "tweeking" the settings on the loudtwitter. (everything electronic she touches will turn and fight her... computers think she is Ryu from Street Fighter) Anywho, it didn't seem to transfer so here we go:

After who knows how much time, the old ill-intent site has been put to rest and the new one is up! ..... sorta... mostly..... okay, so I've got a few more pics to add, but it does feel good to have a site again.

Now, I just have to finish moving all of my drawing stuff to my new place and I can get back to drawing comic stuff. ^^ (well, that and wait for my new modem to be shipped to me -_- )

Anime North Toronto 2008

Okay, well, aside from some grand disaster with my bank screwing up the cheque, Akui is now signed and ready to go for the artist alley at this year's Anime North. Though it doesn't sound all impressive, I am still surprised I was able to get in. Spaces here filled up in less than 1 minute after opening (I've tried for concerts with less mobbage than this).
Anywho, if you're going, I hope to see you there.

Yup, that's where I found it. A box of all sorts of random types of paper I stored (oversized or specialty stock for resume or whatever) I found UNDERNEATH stuff I thought I had lost (or at least accidently burned >.>;). Yes, the box was labelled, but only that it contained spare paper.
Now, what was inside that warrants such enthusiasm? Well.........

Phantasy Star: Ambition of Illuminus is an evil, evil game! Fun as hell, but EVIL! It's eaten up my gaming time (I've a few games I picked up that I've let collect dust due to this one). Though my thanks and hello to all of those on AoI that I run with.

Okay, it's almost 11 am the morning of the con and I'm acutally organized and ready to go (I must coming down with something....). Rose and I will be there pimping our comic, for those wish to stop by and say hi. We'll be in the small press/artist alley section near that damned Rue Morgue display. (is there ever a year they don't blast feedback into my skull...?)
Anywho, gotta get some food into me and get going. If I see you there, great.

Okay, I took a quick break from drawing and work and went up north for a "wee cottage trip". Guests included friends, fruits and my darlin' girl. (yeah, that's right Mike, you ARE the fruit) The list of what I needed to take with me was fairly standard:

- Clothes
- Toiletries
- Snacks
- DVDs (just in case of lousy weather)
- and something else minor I'm forgetting.........

Oh, yeah!

Anime North 2007

Okay, it's the evening after the final day of the AN convention. I'm sleep deprived but it's all good. Thanks to everyone who came out and said hi. (sorry to those for whom I had nothing new) After a day of recovery and catch up sleep (and probably a proper, nutricious meal or two) I'll be back finishing up issue 6 and the long neglected work on my website.
Well, I'd say more, but sleep beckons....thanks, again and I'll see everyone at FanExpo convention in August.

Okay, I know it's been a long time since I've updated either this journal, my website OR done a new issue of Lucian Fallen....but I have a good excuse.

A riddle: What has 6 letters, grows to 2.5 inches wide, delays comic production for several months and rhymes with LANCER? (yep, that's right.)

Sorry for the delay in issue 6. I will have it out as soon as I can. (stupid real life recovery times....)

Toronto Fan Expo Convention

Yup, the ol' ill-intent duo (plus lackies) will be at the CNAnime part of the Toronto Fan Expo this coming weekend (Sept 1st to 3rd). I can make no claims to the state of rest or sanity of our collective minds, but....well, we'll be there physically, anyway..... >_>

I can't say too much about it all, but I'll leave it up to ill-intent's poster boy for emo-expressionism (ooh!) to tell the rest......

Okay, it's official......anime conventions have placed some sort of CURSE on me!! The instant I finish off my request pic backlog and start on my comic, my new (BRAND NEW ONLY USED SINCE OCTOBER!) PC dies on me...... (pausing to scream at the heavens) So, if anyone knows a good place in the GTA for hardware/mechanical pc repairs or analysis, please let me know 'cause I'm gonna have to drop this sucker off to be fixed "post-haste" (and most likely, drop a lot of cash too).

For those who are curious, I'm convinced it's the mother board or power source. I turn it on and the power light goes on, the noise of machine starting up follows but ceases after 1 second. The power light stays on, but the tower is a silent block. (and I've tried the obvious re-connecting every wire/plug thing)

Now, I'm off to find out if there's a store in Toronto that sells Voodoo charms.......... >_

An odd trend in discovering new stores

Okay, back in November, I went on a little trip to Ottawa. During this outing, I came across a small, hole-in-the-wall Japanese food supply store. Going in (out of boredom), I discover they also rent books and manga from Japan. What surprises me is that, in the used & for sale area, they have a compilation manga book of Golgo 13.
Holy Crap!! GOLGO 13!!! I haven't been able to find any of Saito's manga ANYWHERE!!
Anyway, I look at the price--$2--and proptly grab my little treasure find and go. (cool!)

Now, I bet some of you are wondering "What the heck is Golgo 13?"....Well, to answer, it's an old sniper comic from the early 70's by Takao Saito. 3 movies (2 animated, 1 live action) and 4 games (2 NES, 1 PS and an arcade) came from the series . The hero, Duke Togo --codenamed Golgo 13-- is an emotionless hired assassin who all but originated the "...." speech quote and looks a lot like a pachuu from Excel Saga when it's been killed/hurt.

While this is far too old of news to warrant an update now, it does tie into the real reason. Last weekend, I was out and about town. During my wanderings I came across a hole-in-the-wall Japanese food supply store in the Kensington-Augusta area. What do you know? They also rent manga and books and, what do you know, they also sell old used ones. AND....what do you know...? (you can fill this one in yourself, I'm sure)

Yes, a second Golgo 13 manga. (1972, BABY!!!)

So, I guess my lesson learned is, SCREW EBAY FOR MANGA! I'M SHOPPING HOLES IN THE WALL!!

Wow!! I've finally learned enough of this new-fangle web journal thingie to ADD A SECOND USER PIC!!! O_o I've decide to use a scan from an old art book of mine (Kaneko Kazuma, for those who care). This is all part of a feeble attempt to "be less hermit-ish" and actually communicate more with the outside world.
As to whether or not I can do it, well, wait and see.......

Yup, it's true. I decided to grace our nation's capital with my presence earlier this month (vacation, wooh!) and no sooner do I step on to Parliament Hill, do I hear alarms and have a security guard waving one of those (rather rude looking) metal detectors at me. Now, I know what one may think..."What could be so hostile or threatening to our nation's leaders that it should set off such security precautions?" WELL........

.............It beeps only when it passes over my groin............

Make of that what you will. (there is an explanation, but I choose to with hold it at this time....drama! drama!!)

To those of you who actually care what happened afterwards, I lied and said it must be my belt buckle (which was WAY higher up from where the thing beeped at me). But, it seemed to satisfy them, so I was allowed to pass.

......if only they knew the terrible, terrible truth........
